Busy weekend! I attended a private middle school event and did very well! Lots of moms bought jewelry, a few guys bought some stuff for their wives or girlfriends and the little kids scooped up nearly ALL of my Starlet Shimmer jewelry!

And of course I sold out of these beautiful headbands! I was so happy to keep one for myself because they sold out promptly! I will be reordering tomorrow!

How is Paparazzi different?

How can Paparazzi be different from other direct sales companies?
1.  The product is ONLY $5!!!!   It is NOT overpriced.  You cannot buy costume jewelry as nice as this anywhere for a lower price - not even Wal-Mart (and Wal-Mart's isn't very cute!).
2.  The commission is 45%.   For every piece of jewelry I sell, I make $2.25.  On average, I make about $25-50/hr.  You can make upto 10% commission on those who join your team.
3.  It appeals to ALL ages of females.  There are products for little ones, tweens, teens, young adults, adults and senior citizens.   There are many different styles for many different tastes!
4.  People of ALL socio-economic statuses can afford this and they love it!!!
5.  Customers don't have to look at the product in a catalog, make an order, pay for shipping and wait for it to come.   They take it home with them immediately after they fall in love with it.  There is NO DELIVERING product for hours.
6.  The product sells itself.  Show it to women, say the price and watch it disappear.
7.  Impulse buying at its best!!!
8.  The company keeps up with the trends.   The designers see what is "hot" in Paris, design it, produce it and I get to sell it....for only $5.   Women can afford to be trendy for $5.  New jewelry is rotating in often.
9.   Repeat customers are created.   Just like shoes, bags or clothes, many women can never get enough jewelry.   Since styles are always changing, women keep coming back for more!  They get addicted to Paparazzi!
10.  Women are excited to come to Paparazzi parties AND invite their friends!  Strangers call me on the phone and ask to come see my collection because they've seen it on their friends and want some for themselves.

Taxes for Direct Sales Professionals

I am not a tax professional, however I do run my own direct sales company. I have compiled this short list of tips to remember when doing  your taxes this year as well as a list of deductions you may or may not have known about. Always consult a tax professional when doing your taxes.

DOCUMENT EVERYTHING!!!

The most important part of any business, but especially direct sales, is to document EVERYTHING.  I find that having a spreadsheet with all of your income and expenses works great, then you can attach your receipts and documents to it. This will help you maximize your deductions, and keep yourself prepared in case you ever have to show documentation of your tax deductions (AUDIT). 

Your home office has a lot of deductions for your direct sales business. Be sure to keep up with the receipts for every purchase so that you can deduct it all when tax times come around. Even the smallest amount can make a difference in the amount of taxes you may owe during tax season.

• Files
• Office Furniture
• Pens/Pencils and other office supplies
• Magazine subscriptions that help with the merchandise you sell.
